Our Kolbe Mission kick-off fundraiser was very successful! It was an inspirational event that included prayer, praise and worship music, great speakers, and good food. We also had an silent auction, which included beautiful artwork by a talented artist who is incarcerated at Lewis Prison in Buckeye.
Our guest speaker was Brenda Lizardo, who gave a moving testimony of her experience with her son’s problems with addictions. Her son is Fernando Quiroz. Fernando contributed about eight original works of art that he completed while in prison, to auction off at the fundraiser. They were a hit with the attendees.
The Kolbe Mission Vice President, Kevin Starrs, provided a history of The Kolbe Mission project. He spoke of its humble beginnings, and the support of Bishop Olmsted. He described the progress that’s been made and what still needs to be done.
We were honored and privileged to have Bishop Olmsted attend the event, and speak to us. He mentioned the great need that The Kolbe Mission is addressing, and expressed his support for the project.
Unfortunately, we didn’t do a very good job of documenting the event with pictures and videos. But, I will include in this post a few photos that were taken by attendees.
We are very grateful to all the attendees who made this event such a success. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of them.
Great job everyone! Keep up the good work!
